"Ian was absolutely amazing. The social lubricant that we didn't realise would be so vital to the smooth running of the day. He was affable, organised and caring. Genuinely terrific and universally praised by our guests. So glad we had him on our day."

''Having little knowledge on what a toastmaster actually does, we weren't really sure if we needed one for our special day... I'm so glad we did! He was like a 'wedding fairy godfather' and was always on hand to help aid all those bits that you didn't even consider! ...You need an individual who knows what they're doing; Ian is him.'
Lindsey & Rick, Cheshire 2024
You may be wondering what a trained professional toastmaster is and what they actually do at a wedding! Think of having a ‘Personal Event Manager’ and 'stress reliever' and you won’t be far off the mark. On the one hand, they are there to be very visible – the red jacket drawing attention to their fundamental ‘master of ceremonies’, public-facing role. On the other hand, a lot of what a toastmaster does is ‘behind the scenes’ – ensuring that everything that has been planned to happen, actually does. They are there to ensure that the event runs to time, that every detail to do with a couple's 'big day' is taken care of, needs are anticipated, and any issues resolved – before they become a cause for concern and affect the enjoyment and success of the day. The professional toastmaster mantra is to ‘check, check and check again!’
The most reassuring function of a trained professional toastmaster is complete dedication. Some venues may say that they will offer a hotel manager to fulfil the role of ‘MC’ – announce the entrance of the happy couple at a wedding, introduce the speakers and speeches, say ‘grace’ etc. As hotel managers, they are (quite rightly) focused on delivering the very best 'operational' aspects of your day. However, having a trained professional toastmaster solely focussed on delivering the little (and large) details of your carefully planned wedding takes away any concern and worry. They are dedicated to you, co-ordinating with the hotel manager and your suppliers, and keeping you and your guests informed.
At a wedding, in addition to the master of ceremonies function, ‘meet & greet’, receiving of gifts and cards from arriving guests, assistance with wedding party buttonholes and flowers, smartening of ties and pocket squares, guest book completion, advice and guidance on speeches and protocols, efficient marshalling of guests for those all-important photos, checking the knife is actually there for the cutting of the cake, and supplier of safety pins and shoelaces for those last-minute mishaps are just some of the typical tasks that a professional toastmaster may undertake!
Having a trained professional toastmaster present at your wedding will help alleviate the stress, allowing you and your guests to enjoy the biggest day of your life! All delivered with an elevated sense of occasion, visual impact and undoubted style and class – all for a very modest charge.
